摘要
Giant nanocapsules with dimensions of up to 4 nm and a molecular weight of 57 kDa were obtained from Dawson-type polyoxometalates functionalized with aromatic boronic acids, as reported by Z. Zheng, C. Streb, X. Chen, et al. in their Communication (DOI: 10.1002/anie.202003550). A "lock-and-key" organofunctionalization route was used for the regiospecific attachment of the boronic acids to pre-functionalized sites within the Dawson anions. This results in the aggregation of closed capsules rather than infinite networks.
