In this paper, a methodology for fast re-design of antenna structures with respect to substrate parameters has been presented. The key component of our technique is an inverse surrogate model that is constructed using reference designs representing optimum antenna geometries for selected values of the substrate permittivity and thicknesses. The surrogate returns the values of antenna dimensions corresponding to the substrate parameters of interest. For the sake of computational efficiency, the model is set up at the level of low-fidelity (coarse-discretization) EM antenna simulations and further corrected by means of a single high-fidelity reference design. The presented procedure is demonstrated using a planar dual-band dipole antenna re-designed for a target range of substrate permittivity from 2.0 to 5.0 and thickness from 0.5 mm to 1.5 mm.
