摘要
This paper introduces a novel algorithm for parametric optimization of high-frequency structures. It is based on an adaptive design specification approach, which facilitates the optimization process whenever good initial design is lacking, and the system operating frequencies are distant from the target ones. Our methodology allows to adaptively adjust the design goals so that—at any given iteration of the optimization process — the most recent targets are reachable. As demonstrated using a compact microstrip coupler and a triple-band antenna, the proposed technique considerably improves the reliability of the parameter tuning process and enables successful optimization using local routines even if quality of the available initial designs is poor.
