摘要 | Besides their size-dependent emission governed by quantum confinement effect, colloidal quantum dots (QDs) are known for their narrow emission line, which greatly enlarges the color gamut of displays, either in LCD backlights or in QLEDs. As a backlight of LCD, QD enables LCD to be compatible to OLED in color. In fact, there is a color revolution presently on-going in displays. In this talk, we will present a much narrower candidate for this color revolution, namely quantum nanoplatelets (NPLs), which has an emission linewidth of 9 nm, which significantly smaller than QD (-30 nm) and perovskite QDs (-20 nm). For a particular 4-layer NPL, the emission is in green. Making use of this green, we could achieve a color gamut which significantly larger than Ree. 2020. In the talk, we will incorporate some other trends in the QD display community as well. |
