摘要 | The recently proposed concept of three-dimensional (3-D) frequency selective structures (FSSs) is explored for terahertz applications. A simplest form of 3-D FSS is considered. It consists of a two-dimensional periodic array of non-resonant apertures, which are etched out of two conducting surfaces of a printed circuit board (PCB). Quality factor of this FSS can be easily controlled by the size of non-resonant coupling apertures. Unlike other reported THz FSS designs, the proposed structure does not require a silicon substrate and microfabrication chamber. Instead, it can be fabricated on a commonly available double-sided copper PCB, through a low-cost fabrication method. © 2019 IEEE. |
