摘要 | The port tuning technique is a powerful method that modifies an electromagnetic (EM) simulation model or fine model by adding tuning ports to it. The tuning ports allow the result of the EM simulation to be adjusted in circuit simulation, aiming for faster EM-based design and reduced overall simulation time. The technique is particularly useful in designing microwave components such as filters, where using computer software for EM simulation can be time-consuming. Port tuning can be considered a special case of tuning space mapping. An “auxiliary model” is obtained by adding tuning ports to a full wave EM simulation model. A tuning model is created by combining the auxiliary model with tuning elements. The tuning model can replace the fine model for rapid microwave device design. The concept of tuning space mapping and port tuning can also be applied to optimize reconfigurable antennas and reflective intelligent surfaces, which incorporate tunable devices that can be challenging to optimize using traditional methods. By introducing tuning ports into the EM simulation, the state of these tunable devices can be quickly simulated and adjusted. |
