Weak Antilocalization Effect, Quantum Oscillation, and Superconducting Proximity Effect in 3D Topological Insulators

Topological insulators are discovered recently as a new quantum state of mater. Due to the spin helical spin texture, surface Dirac fermions of topological insulators are expected to exhibit many exotic quantum transport phenomena. In this chapter, we will review the great progress which has been made in the magneto-transport study of topological insulators, including the weak antilocalization effect, quantum oscillation, and superconducting proximity effect. A fully understanding of these phenomena will not only provide more physical insights into the Dirac fermion physics, especially with broken time reversal symmetry, but also lead to potential application of topological insulators in spintronics and quantum computing.
