摘要 | Astaxanthin has been extensively studied in recent years due to its various pharmacological activities and high antioxidant capacity. Haematococcus pluvialis (H. pluvialis) is a type of microalgae that is capable of producing astaxanthin and it is also known to have the highest astaxanthin content in the nature. Here, we present a microfluidic culture platform that can culture flagellated stage of H. pluvialis under controlled mechanical stress for investigating its effect. The developed platform selectively cultured motile stage cells and approximately 15 times more astaxanthin accumulation was found with proper external mechanical stress applied during the 7 days of culture. |
